When West Coast Entertainment team members see Heidi “walk” into the office each morning, everyone knows it! Her vivacious personality and unparalleled knowledge of the ins and outs of the company make her an indispensable part of the team. Heidi started with the company as a mock casino dealer when she was just 18 years old. Over her 30+ years with West Coast, she has worked in nearly every aspect of the business. From casino dealing and event management to loading and unloading trucks, managing the warehouse, handling administrative operations, and overseeing the countless details that go into every event, Heidi has truly done it all.

Her favorite events to plan are company picnics, so be sure to reach out to her to help plan yours this summer! If you’re lucky, she may even come out and personally manage your event.

West Coast Entertainment is the Northwest’s leading event planning company. Since 1978, we’ve worked with high schools , corporate and non-profit clients, individuals and groups. He joined West Coast Entertainment in 2008 as a blackjack dealer, and his fellow dealers were thrilled when he was promoted to Staffing & Logistics Manager in 2019. With experience as both a restaurant owner and manager, Mark brings strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills to the team. He is committed to helping staff reach their full potential through training, adaptability, and a hands-on approach to ever-changing schedules and event needs. Born in Northern California and raised in Reno, Nevada, he moved to Seattle after high school to attend the University of Washington and quickly fell in love with the PNW lifestyle. When he’s not at work, Dan can usually be found exploring the outdoors, planning his next road trip with his partner, or enjoying a good board game or poker session. During the summer, he especially enjoys activities like disc golf and paddleboarding.

Dan joined West Coast Entertainment just after college as a casino dealer and has now been with the company for more than 12 years. Over the years, he has filled a variety of roles and always enjoys learning new casino games. ##### What is a Casino Party?

A casino party is an event where the primary form of entertainment is a Las Vegas style mock casino. Guests are given a predetermined number of chips to gamble at the tables.

##### What games do you offer?

We offer the majority of games that are found at a casino in Las Vegas, including: Black Jack, THM, etc…see our Games tab for a full description of each game. We also offer a variety of other entertainment options for your guests

##### What if our guests don’t know how to play the games?

Not to worry! Learning to play the games is part of the fun for your guests. Our dealers are trained to instruct your guests in the fundamentals of each game and provide a fun, non-threatening learning environment.

##### Are casino parties legal?

Yes, casino parties are legal. However, there are certain rules and guidelines that must be strictly adhered to. Failure to do so is a criminal offense and may bring potential fines. West Coast Entertainment is licensed by the State of Washington Gambling Commission and trained to follow the rules and regulations.

##### Are guests allowed to make cash bets?

No, Washington State Gambling Commission forbids making monetary wages under any circumstances. West Coast Entertainment uses gaming chips with non-monetary values.

##### When should I contact WCE?

We are able to help with any level of your planning process. From taking on your entire party, to providing one element, call us any time and we’ll help you meet whatever need you may have.

##### Can you make guests pay an admission fee to the Casino Party?

Yes, but only to recover the expense of the casino from the ticket price of a dinner or dance included in the events package.

##### Can guests buy chips before or during the casino party?

No. Guests must be given a pre-determined number of casino chips at the beginning of the Casino Party. You may have additional chips available to all guests for no charge during the event.

##### Should I have a spot for every guest?

Our experience has shown us that you should allow for 75%-85% of your guests to be playing at any one time.

##### What is a “Celebrity Dealer’s” table?

How often do you get the opportunity to be a dealer in a casino? We provide a Celebrity Dealer’s table at events for guests to try their hand at being a casino dealer. This is also a great way for company executives to build relationships with their employees or improve vendor relationships.

# Casino Games

We offer over ten different Las Vegas style casino games, so we are sure to supply your guests’ favorite one. For those games you may not be so familiar with, below is a little description of either:

**Black Jack**: Also known as “21”, Black Jack is one of the most popular casino games because of its simplicity – beat the dealer’s hand without going over 21 and you win!

**Craps**: Craps is a dice game where the players make wagers on the outcome of the roll, or a series of rolls of the dice. Craps is often the most exciting and popular of the casino games because it offers an assortment of bets and odds. Players and onlookers alike share in the excitement of each roll of the dice and the chance to win big.

**Texas Hold ‘Em**: THM is a variation of poker where two cards are dealt to each player and five community cards are dealt in three stages. Using forced antes or “blinds” THM is fast paced and the most popular of the community card poker games. THM is a great addition to any event. THM can also be played as a standalone tournament which is great entertainment at fundraisers.

**Texas Shootout**: Similar to the ever popular Texas Hold ‘Em! Except you can come and go as you please from the game because instead of playing against other players you are only trying to beat the dealers’ best hand.

**Roulette**: If you like numbers and spinning wheels, you’ll love Roulette. Place your bet on a color or any combination of numbers as the ball rolls round and round, then wait to see if Lady Luck falls on your side.

**Red Dog**: What’s a Red Dog doing in a casino game you ask? Simply marking the spread between cards dealt. An Atlantic City favorite, Red Dog is similar to “Acey-Deucey” or “In-Between”.

**Caribbean Stud**: Based on the five card stud poker game, the player competes against the house and the option of playing for a progressive jackpot. You win if the dealer does not have an ace, a king or better!

**Pai Gow**: Not as fast paced as Craps or even Black Jack but you also can’t lose an outrageous amount of money. You win if your highest and second highest hands are higher in rank than those of the dealer.

**Casino War**: Remember playing this as a youngster? This is just like that! Players bet their card will be higher than the dealer’s. If both are the same, the dealer and player “go to war”.

**Let it Ride**: “Let it ride” is that favorite phrase leading you to riches…or not! Players make three wagers with each three-card hand. This is a poker game where the player depends as much on luck as skill.

**High-Low Change**: A dice game at its easiest and it offers quick payoffs as you guess if the roll of the dice will total above, below, or on the number seven.

**Big-Six Wheel**: Also known as the Wheel of Fortune, but without Vanna White! This wheel is reminiscent of the old carnival wheel that spins round and round and where it stops, nobody knows.

**Spanish 21:** Have you ever been told, “you can’t do that”, in Black Jack? Well then Spanish 21 is the game for you. Don’t like the original two cards dealt to you? We’ll give you half your money back. Want to double down after more than one card? Go for it! We have even taken out all the 10’s from the shoe and added a few extra bonuses to offset the house advantage.

**Royal Marriage:** Another modified version of Black Jack – it is dealt essentially the same as Black Jack with an added, optional, bonus bet. The bonus bet can win in four ways: If your first two cards are the same suite, if you are dealt a natural blackjack of the same suit, if your first two cards are a suited king and queen (a Royal Marriage), or if both the player and dealer have a Royal Marriage.

Paul discovered West Coast Entertainment and the Director of Operations position while looking to relocate from Las Cruces, New Mexico, to Seattle. Paul’s diverse work history, including time as a police officer, financial advisor, paralegal, and operations manager for a farm to table local produce company has helped him develop the hands on and personal skills that are vital to success as the West Coast Entertainment Director of Operations. Paul’s ability to organize and plan, his willingness to jump in and get his hands “dirty,” and his determination not to quit until he finds a solution to a problem presented to him, make him an incredibly valuable resource.

As the Director of Operations, Paul works closely with our planners to ensure every detail of your event moves from plan to execution. His work with the training and development of our amazing event staff provide a wonderful experience for your guests. With this type of attention to the “behind the scenes” processes, your next event will be the one they won’t forget.

When he’s not working on an event, Paul and his wife enjoy exploring our beautiful state with their triplets.

## Safe and Sober Grad Parties Since 1978!

Graduation marks the end of one exciting chapter in a student’s life and begins the next. It’s the culmination of hard work, fun, first-time experiences and the building of life-long friendships… and possibly the last time together with favorite classmates!

What better way to celebrate this great achievement than with an all night party with friends where all you have to do is show up and everything is set for you to just enjoy. We feature some of the most exciting venues in town and the best combination of entertainment all in a drug and alcohol-free environment.

## Frequently Asked Questions

##### How soon do we need to reserve a venue?

Every year, schools across the state are calling earlier and earlier to reserve a party location, in an attempt to get their first venue choice. As soon as the actual graduation date is set, you will want to be ready to put a deposit down to hold your spot. We recommend getting started early with WCE when forming committees as we offer some really unique fundraising opportunities, ideas, and options and can help you with the process. And the earlier you start planning, the more time you have to fundraise.

##### How much of a deposit is required to reserve our party?

$1,500.00, along with a signed contract, will hold the date and reserve your venue(s) and entertainment.

##### What is a good number of students to start with as a minimum guarantee on our contract?

Usually, one half is usually a good rule of thumb. Rural schools tend to have a higher graduation party participation than city schools. A good guideline is to look at what the attendance from previous years has been as well.

##### Do we need to obtain additional liability insurance for the night of the event?

West Coast Entertainment exceeds industry standards for liability insurance, ensuring your event is protected. In addition, all of the venues have insurance. We do not require that your group carries additional insurance. We leave it up to each individual parent committee to decide for themselves.

##### Will someone from West Coast come to one of our initial committee meetings to discuss venues options and answer questions?

Yes. Absolutely. We can present to you with a slideshow, provide packets for you to keep and answer questions as a group. Just call to schedule a date and time and we will be there!

 **Event Security**

Safety is an important part of any graduation party. Parents, teachers and West Coast Entertainment want to make sure that students have a safe and fun time. Based on years of experience, West Coast Entertainment believes that Licensed Security Personnel are the best choice for ensuring safety at graduation parties.

Police officers are NOT allowed to perform pat-downs unless they have reasonable suspicion of a crime (noticing a weapon or suspecting drugs or alcohol). Licensed Security Personnel, however, are required by WCE to perform pat-downs as each student enters a facility. This prevents contraband from entering the venue. WCE provides male and female security personnel at each event to perform such pat-downs in a respectful manner.

Additionally, where a Police Officer may only take action if a crime is being committed in their presence (student threatening another, damaging property or is proven to be intoxicated), Licensed Security Personnel are present to PREVENT a situation from elevating to the level of damage or injury.

Although the Police Guild uses a ratio of 1 Police Officer for every 100 students, WCE policy is to have a minimum of 2 Licensed Security Personnel at each event, with a security ratio of one Security Officer per 50 students.

As a standard, WCE will include Licensed Security Personnel for your event. If you would prefer, WCE will gladly add Police Officers to compliment your Security Personnel for a nominal fee.

David joined the team at West Coast Entertainment as a Segway tour guide and never left. He has filled every position with West Coast leading to his recent appointment as President of the Company. His years of travel and work experience have uniquely prepared him to make planning your next event effortless.

David was born on an Air Force Base in Florida and has lived in various places around the world. His family settled in Tacoma, WA when David was 16. Since then, David has managed Burger King Restaurants, run a forklift for K-Mart and served in the US Air Force. His experience serving as a Youth Pastor, Adjunct Professor, College Admissions Counselor and Senior pastor have taken him all over the Northwest. His world travels and pastoral work have contributed to his deep understanding of different people and how to meet their needs.

He has been married to his wife, Lisa, for over 30 years (although he says it feels like yesterday) and they have 3 kids – Joshua (29), Timothy (27) and Carolynn (21). David’s favorite ice cream is vanilla, because it’s like a blank canvas – it can become anything you want it to be. It is our passion to take care of the details of any party you host, so let us take care of the picnic planning for you as well! If you give us a call and follow our fool-proof picnic planning process, we guarantee that your corporate picnic will rock the socks off of your employees!

## **What’s important when planning a picnic?**

#### Date and Location

When working with vendors and venues it is always good to have a date solidified early on to guarantee availability. Let us do all of this for you. We will help you find the perfect venue. Already have a place in mind? Let us work with the contact to secure your event.

#### Event Coordination 

You won’t have to fall behind on your work or write a dozen checks to different vendors if you have an event planning company handle all of the details for you. West Coast Entertainment will make arrangements with your caterer, entertainment, DJ, and even the venue. This eliminates mistakes and you only have to deal with one person. We have worked with our vendors for many years and guarantee that they will deliver an A+ product.



#### Food 

We work with wonderful caterers who offer a wide variety of food choices. So, whether you want a good ole fashioned BBQ or a nicer buffet, we’ve got you covered!



#### Entertainment

With access to any type of entertainment you could ever imagine (inflatables, rentals, performers, & more!), the possibilities are endless! Let us know what your vision is and we’ll create an entertainment package to match.

Your picnic will thrive or dive on the music you play as it sets the atmosphere. Our DJs are guaranteed to keep your guests involved and will even host games and contests with their own prizes! Our repeat clients love our DJs, so if you’d like a first-hand review, you’ve got it!

As a Senior Event Planner with West Coast Entertainment, Lena brings years of experience working on fundraising and special events as an Executive Assistant for the Asian Business Association, San Diego, as a Volunteer Manager for 501 Commons, and UNCF Pacific NW here in Seattle. These roles have molded her serving spirit and creative mind.

Lena utilizes the foundation she’s built in public service to identify new and exciting opportunities to achieve client goals. From corporate holiday parties and summer picnics, to intimate private events, Lena will work alongside you to transform your vision into a reality.

Ally is the newest member of the West Coast Entertainment office team, bringing with her a love of people and parties.

As the Director of First Impressions, she is responsible for connecting clients, vendors and venues with the right person to meet their need. Ally facilitates the completion of all office procedures and projects, and actively participates in many areas of the business to provide a seamless transition from idea, to plan, to action.

Her background as an attorney allows her to utilize key organizational skills and focus on even the smallest details to ensure the office runs without a hitch. Ally’s role includes making people smile and will eventually extend to marketing and branding. With 17 years’ experience as a server in varying types of establishments, Ally’s “servant’s heart” is put to good use assisting clients to reach their goals and supporting the event planning team at West Coast Entertainment.

Ally married her husband, Blake, in August 2016. They have a 4-year-old English Bulldog named Bella that they enjoy taking for walks and spoiling with love.

Just to make sure he adds play to his work, he is one of our best Segway tour guides. In his spare time Daniel loves to sing and has done very well in competitions. Daniel brings his passion to everything he does, whether it is volunteering at his church, or restoring antiques.
